I'm glad you mentioned Eve Hewson as well. For the past year she has been enjoying her success with the Bad Sisters series, and figured her silence was so as to not ruin her hard-earned (sarcasm) career. Her social media is mostly nepo-baby aesthetic selfies or Bad Sisters promo.
In May 2024, she attended the Met Gala with the rest of the delusional celebrities - the same time that the AI image "All Eyes On Raffah" was viral. For weeks her socials were only glamour shots for the Gala, but she did manage to share that one image in her glamour shots after Gala attendees were called out for celebrity grossness and silence.
The Hewson family are known good friends of the Clintons, and both Hewson daughters heavily supported Hillary and Kamala's election campaign on their socials.
Elijah Hewson, one of Bono's sons, has been having a great time touring the world with his unremarkable band, Inhaler. His band is definitely not U2, and their vibe isn't really political or outspoken about anything important like U2/Bono, but it's still kind of gross to see them traipsing around having their own little nepo-brat summer with mediocre music.
Bono has close famous Irish artist friends that regularly post support and information about Palestine. It suspect it must be an awkward situation in their inner world.
What other Irish celebrities have been outspoken? - I can't imagine Sinead O'Conner would approve of Bono right now, but I think she'd be right there in solidarity with the rest of the Irish who have hearts and minds. 🖤
I liked her in the Knick, but no chance she would be where she is without her famous father. Yeah, he seems to be in an odd position - certainly compromised
I also needed to understand the background to make sense of this .. from my perspective he’s been zio’d Heavily brainwashed with their underpinning victimhood and superiority. This is so so out of step with where we are heading as a human race. He may in time look back and see his lust and insecurity ate away at his humanity - a big test - and he lost touch with the bigger picture. Another insignificant one rolling in wealth.
Who knows! I don't think it is brainwashing personally. My hunch is that he never cared but rather used the pretence of caring for his own material benefit. And he absolutely has a saviour complex.
I needed to read this today! It’s weird that it cheered me up but it did. And I needed something to push me over the edge concerning Bono and U2. I’ll never jam out to their songs again without feeling gross, which is a great deterrent to even listening to them at all. Thank you for putting in writing the disappointment we feel when people we looked up to sell out or turn out not to be who we thought they were. A lot of people are kind of mean about this, but I think being mean about it is completely missing the point about it: that people who put themselves out there publicly as being decent humans or even heroic on some level are often only projecting an image that doesn’t go far beyond their surface, and that that in itself is harmful.
I never liked U2, I don't think they're talented, it's a kind of pop music for those who don't have their own like of music. He has always struck me as a sanctimonious pious prick. So thank you for the clarity on the now obvious reason as to why I knew there was something unhealthy about him and hi good Christian band stance.
Thanks for your comment and reading! I disagree about his music – as a musician and someone deeply invested in rock music, and I would say, if I do say so myself, that my knowledge of the rock and alternative music scenes from the 60s through to the 00s in particular is good, that U2 have some outstanding music, especially from the 80s and their early 90s record, Achtung Baby. But yes, tragically, the guy either lost his way or he was always faking an image of someone who genuinely cared for career progression and power.
Thank you for this Teo! As someone who was a U2 fan since childhood, I couldn't agree more with everything you have stated about. Thank for speaking truth to this, all of which is true, and very searchable for those who are in denial. Génoçide is the red line even it is drawn between myself and what was my favorite band.
Thanks for your comment! Yes, I know, it is really gut-wrenching when our favourite artists end up being twats 😆 totally agree with your thoughts about U2 and Bono
This hits especially deep for me. I have seen U2 over 20 times and was a DEVOTED fan for over 30 years. Like, fanclub devoted.
I knew something was wrong when U2 didn't say much during their first Sphere shows which began the same week as Oct. 7th. I figured maybe it was because of some contract with MSG Sphere and they'd be more vocal after their planned run of shows at the Sphere ended. - The tour kept getting extended for weeks. Still no further words about Gaza from U2 during or outside of shows.
When the tour ended and there was still no commentary - and Ireland was showing to be a mighty show of solidarity for Palestine - the curtain completely dropped and revealed the truth.
I'm completely done with them and have been getting rid of decades of my collection that I once treasured and now disgust me to waste space in my home.
I am not proud of the dopamine boost of seeing U2 - Bono being called out, but it's healing my heart in a certain way. Thank you for putting all of this information together. I actually learned some things that answered some questions I had.
Thanks again Felicia. Yes, it's devastating, especially when you have the fandom that you have had. I have always been a fan and bought with my own money, after working in a restaurant on the weekends as a teenager, their back catalogue. Then to go see them live, almost like a pilgrimage, to Dublin, and go to see U2 tribute acts when they rolled into town too, it is a real stomach punch. I can only imagine the magnitude of it in your case. Regards from Dublin! (I actually live very close to where Bono grew up 😆)
“Where are the dreams of the Irish? Where are the dreams of the Israelis and the Palestinians? Where are the dreams? Where are the hopes? Where are the heroes in Palestine?” At the time he asked this, social media responded by saying, they are all in prisons or killed.

Hi Sunshine, thanks! Yes, same – their music is done for me, because, in particular, the lyrics now feel like a lie.
Haha, same! Bono getting called out definitely has been cheering me up and I hate that, but I'm just so damn disappointed.
I think the calling him out has only just begun! He will get called out for the rest of his life. The mask is off.

Remember when Bono asked "where are all the heroes in Palestine?" Wow, what a quack, he is!
😆
Wait what?
“Where are the dreams of the Irish? Where are the dreams of the Israelis and the Palestinians? Where are the dreams? Where are the hopes? Where are the heroes in Palestine?” At the time he asked this, social media responded by saying, they are all in prisons or killed.
The heroes of Palestine are being murdered, Bono. Heroes like journalists and doctors keep getting bombed. 🖤
100 percent! Plus, the people of Palestine are all heroes, too!
Wow 🤦🏻♀️
I know! Kinda lost respect for him.
Super duper lost respect for him!
